Establishing a Good Contact Lens Fit at Malara Eyecare and Eye Spa
It starts with a thorough eye exam to ensure the most up-to-date prescription and rule out any pre-existing conditions that could interfere with contact lens wear.
Extremely nice staff. My daughter was getting contacts for the first time they didn't rush her, made sure she felt very comfortable taking them in and out. The Dr. was extremely kind to her, he explained their is a slight difference between her glasses prescription from last year too her contact prescription this year and it may feel a little different. The Dr and his assistant both built her confidence up and told her she could get the contacts in and out. Extremely outstanding visit! ~D.M.
Fitting lenses to your lifestyle
We will determine the best fitting lens based on your lifestyle needs and the shape and health of your eyes. In most cases, you’ll have the opportunity to try lenses on the same day as your exam. You may even go home with a few samples before making a final decision.
Follow up fittings
Our Liverpool team will follow up after the initial fitting and then make any necessary changes in fit or materials to get you the best possible result. We teach all our patients proper contact lens care and also possible consequences if proper care is not taken. Then we continue with long-term follow-up to monitor the condition of the lenses and to ensure that proper hygiene is being maintained.
Ask us about Hybrid Lenses!
As the name suggests, hybrid lenses are a combination of soft and hard components. The central hard portion provides crisp vision, while the soft outer portion provides good comfort on the eye. Similar to scleral lenses, hybrids must be filled with liquid before inserting to keep the eye healthy and comfortable. They can be used on normal eyes to provide a balance between the vision of RGP’s and the comfort of soft lenses, or on irregular eyes that require a special fitting.
